Called to the Bar in 2017, Ashley Blood-Halvorsen is an independent civil and chancery barrister whose practice spans business, property, trusts, estates and related financial disputes. She is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (TEP), a CMC Registered Mediator and was appointed a Deputy District Judge in 2025.
Her business work includes disputes concerning commercial agreements, debts, business assets and ownership interests. Her property practice encompasses co-ownership and TOLATA claims, proprietary estoppel, constructive and resulting trusts, orders for sale, easements, boundaries and restrictive covenants.
Ashley acts for landlords, tenants, freeholders and leaseholders in residential and commercial landlord and tenant matters, including possession and forfeiture claims, business tenancy renewals, service-charge disputes, disrepair, breaches of covenant and lease interpretation.
She also undertakes financial remedies work, particularly cases involving disputed property interests, business or trust assets, third-party ownership claims, non-disclosure or the death of a party before financial matters have been resolved. Her insolvency practice includes bankruptcy and insolvency-related property disputes, the vesting and recovery of assets, transactions affecting creditors, charging orders and applications for possession or sale.
Ashley is also regularly instructed in contentious probate, Inheritance Act 1975 claims, will and trust disputes, executor disputes and contested estate administration. Her down-to-earth nature and straight-talking approach enable her to make complex disputes understandable. She combines clear advice with practical, robust advocacy.
Whilst at her former chambers a senior clerk once described Ashley as ‘the most normal barrister’ he had clerked.
